Note: In late 1924 Georg Jensen, then aged 58, decided to move to Paris to re-start his workshop in an effort to recreate the early days of his career. He was disillusioned at the way his company based in Denmark had been taken out of his hands, and he felt he no longer had any real influence on its direction.
He took 5 silversmiths with him to set up his workshop in Paris. However, the venture was short lived and in 1926 he returned to Copenhagen. Whilst in Paris he made some large pieces of holloware, including 2 wine coolers which were eagerly snapped up by his customers. He also made some jewellery, now known as his 'Paris Designs'.
This bracelet is a stunning piece of Georg Jensen's work. His fanatical attention to detail and ability to bring the silver 'alive' is clearly evident in this beautiful bracelet. The warm glow of the amber perfectly complements the cool tones of the silver. This piece is without doubt an heirloom for future generations.
