Gundorph Albertus worked for the Georg Jensen Silversmithy for over 40 years. He eventually became Assistant Director 1926-1954.
Albertus designed bowls, cups, cocktail shakers, dishes and trays. Many examples of Albertus's holloware from the 1930's have clean, strikingly modern shapes that are accented by floriform ornamentation set at the bases, finials and handles.
Because of this it is possible to view his work as a transition from the firm's exuberantly ornamental designs to the clean-lined, virtually unornamental designs that became dominant in the 1930's.
