Note: The ‘Shell' design is one of Georg Jensen's earliest designs which he produced from about 1910. He modified and embellished it and used it in various different forms. The cake slice is an example of the quality of Georg Jensen's silversmithing and also the simplicity and purity of his design. It also typifies the desire that Georg Jensen expressed to ‘make everyday objects items of beauty'.
