Ib Bluitgen (born 1921) trained as a silversmith at the Georg Jensen
Silversmithy and was awarded a silver medal, the top honour. Like Georg Jensen,
he studied as a sculptor from 1945 to 1948 and worked in the Georg Jensen Silversmithy
from 1948 to 1962, becoming the Head of the design department in 1950. His designs are
fresh and modern. Ib Bluitgen opened his own studio in 1961. His work is shown
worldwide at museums and prestigious exhibitions throughout Europe and North America.
