This bracelet is one of Georg Jensen's earliest designs (No. 3) which was produced c. 1905, only a year after he set up his first workshop in Copenhagen with just one employee, a journeyman silversmith, Otto Frus, then was soon joined by a 14 year old apprentice, Henry Pilstrup, and a 'chaser', Georg Nilson. Henry stayed with Georg Jensen the whole of his working life. The tiny workshop, as a result of its combination of artistic designs and superb craftmanship, quickly became a large firm with an international repution. The design of this bracelet is typical of the beautiful organic design with flowing lines which is the hallmark of Georg Jensen's early work. It is a classical piece and a wonderful example of Georg Jensen's craftmanship.
