There is no extending chain, and is unmarked Condition: Good vintage Size: 16” (40 cm) Ref: US537/0224 This design by Jerry Fels is unmarked. It is possible that this is an early design by Jerry Fels before the extending chain was added to their necklaces. However, this design is attributed to the Matisse range and is documented as such, none of this version appears to have the extending chain. This version in white is stunning against a tan and the beautifully moulded links hang harmoniously around the neckline. Designed by: Jerry Fels of California 1952-64 Marked: ‘Matisse' Condition: Good Length: 13” (33cm) + 4½” (11.5cm) adjustable chain This beautiful necklace is made from copper with a black enamel which is speckled with gold. This is a sophisticated, stunning version of the Egyptian inspired ‘Nefertiti' design and when worn with a black dress, would turn heads on any occasion. This necklace is wonderfully articulated and moves with the wearer. The scientific symbol for copper is ‘cu' which comes from the word ‘Cyprium' which is the latin word for Cyprus which was the Roman source for copper. From ‘Cyprium' come the metal's Latin name ‘cuprum'. From Cyprus copper would have been traded to all the countries surrounding the Mediterranean .	Ref: MB659	SOLD

Designed by: Jerry Fels of California 1952-64 Marked: ‘Matisse' Condition: Good vintage Size: 13 ¼” (34 cm) + 4½” (11.5cm) adustable chain This very pretty, feminine necklace is named ‘Venezia' and although there is no record of why it was named this way, it can only be imagined that it was inspired by some ancient Venetian jewellery. The Venetians used copper as did nearly all the communities around the Mediterranean . The Venetians were famous for their work with glass and the Romans made early attempts at enamelling. They are famous for producing the ‘mille flore' designs by using many rods of different coloured glass, combining them together then stretching them.
